Originally, there were cemeteries north and south of the church on what is now Venatorstraße. To make way for the construction of the old Bierstadt town hall—which today houses the Robert Koch Elementary School—a new cemetery was established at Wolfsfeld in 1824.

A particularly striking burial site in the Bierstadt cemetery is the mausoleum of the childless Thoma couple. And the renowned Wiesbaden garden and landscape architect Wilhelm Hirsch—who, among other projects, designed the Reisinger Gardens at Wiesbaden’s main train station and the Opelbad grounds on the Neroberg, which serve as a model for the modern architecture of such facilities—was buried here in 1957.
