ID and Passport Photos IMPORTANT NOTE

Due to a lack of certifications for the photo cloud specified by the Federal Printing Office, ID and passport photos from many private photo studios cannot be processed.

The Federal Printing Office rejects these.

Therefore, we urge you to check with your photographer to ensure they have current certification.

We do not guarantee the processing of photos taken by private providers, nor do we cover any associated costs.

If processing is not possible, the photo can be taken at the Citizens’ Office for a fee of 6.00 EUR.

We therefore strongly recommend that you inquire in advance or have the photo taken by us.

We operate exclusively by appointment.

Appointments are typically available for the next two weeks via our online scheduling system (opens in a new tab) for the Citizens’ Office and local administrative offices. Additionally, new appointments are added daily and weekly, so it’s worth checking the availability regularly.

In urgent cases, please contact the on-site service desk directly—we’ll be happy to assist you.

When scheduling your appointment, please select all the services you need. Appointment times are precisely tailored to the specific tasks involved.

If you have multiple issues to address, these must be listed in full at the time of booking so that we can schedule sufficient time for your appointment.

If not all services are selected correctly, we unfortunately cannot guarantee that your matters will be processed. Furthermore, this leads to delays in the process—at the expense of residents who arrive on time for their appointments and have booked their matters completely and correctly. We would like to avoid this.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

Note on the tax ID:

You will typically receive your tax ID by mail from the Federal Central Tax Office (opens in a new tab) (BZSt) or can find it on official documents such as your tax assessment notice.
