In principle

• The warning level is always valid for one week and is announced by the Parks Department on Wednesdays.
• Smoking is prohibited in the forest all year round!

Green spaces

• Barbecue areas and fire pits located within 100 meters of the forest edge and throughout the city are off-limits; inspections are being conducted by the forestry authority and the city police.
• If a fire department response is required despite a violation, the costs will be borne by the persons responsible.
• Restaurants and community gardens located within 100 meters (or less) of the forest edge are prohibited from lighting fires or using fireworks (in accordance with §8(3)(1) of the Forest Act [HWaldG]).
• The forest fire emergency plan goes into effect. An emergency response team from the hazard prevention authorities is convened.
• The forestry administration reserves the right to close off certain areas of the forest due to specific hazards.

Public events

• Case-by-case decision as to whether public events with cooking and roasting stands are still permitted by the regulatory authority.

Environment

• No deliberate burning of garden waste.
• No permission for fireworks.
• No barbecues or open fires in private areas at a distance of 100 meters (or less) from the edge of the forest.
