VC Wiesbaden - 1st Bundesliga
The VCW women’s volleyball team will continue to compete in the 1st Bundesliga during the 2026–27 season, which begins in the fall. Until then, the goal is to build a strong team and ensure a solid preseason starting in August. The roster is complete with twelve players, and Pauls Sens has been hired as the new head coach.
Training Begins in August
The countdown has begun: Starting in August, VC Wiesbaden’s newly formed squad of twelve female athletes will train for the first time under the highly professional guidance of the new coaching staff led by head coach Paul Sens and his assistants Jochen Schöps and Marcos Fernández.
Season opener against Aachen
The VCW kicks off the new season in the Women’s Volleyball Bundesliga on Sunday, October 11, at 4 p.m. with an away game against USC Münster. Then, on Wednesday, October 14, at 7:30 p.m., the VCW will play its first home game of the new Bundesliga season against the Ladies in Black Aachen.
Outlook for the 2026/27 Season - Roster Complete
The VCW roster for the 2026–27 season of the Women’s Volleyball Bundesliga 1 is complete. Twelve players will be competing for the Wiesbaden club starting in October. Eleven players had already been announced—the final piece of the puzzle for the new VCW squad is Sara Pustahija. The 22-year-old Serbian outside hitter previously played in the U.S. for the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP).
New addition to the outside attack
The VCW has announced another exciting new addition to its outside hitter lineup for the 2026/27 season in the Women’s Volleyball Bundesliga. Julia Murmann, an athlete from Canada, will be on the court for the Hessian team when they kick off their season on October 11 against USC Münster. The 23-year-old is transferring to the VCW from Tenaglia Abruzzo Altino Volley in Italy.
Blocker Roos Wessels is coming
VC Wiesbaden's middle blockers are forming a solid defensive wall. In the upcoming 2026/2027 season of the Women’s 1st Volleyball Bundesliga, Roos Wessels will join comeback player and veteran Rachel Gomez (USA; 30) in donning the blue jersey. The 20-year-old is transferring from Dutch national champion Apollo 8 to the Hessian state capital.
Diagonal talent from Ukraine at the VCW
The VCW has announced a new addition to the opposite hitter position: Starting with the upcoming 2026/2027 season of the Women’s Volleyball Bundesliga, Marharyta Geiko will become the first Ukrainian athlete to play for the Hessian professional team. The 20-year-old most recently played a standout role for the Swiss team NLZ Volleyball Academy.
