Reading aloud for kids
The Mauritius-Mediathek Wiesbaden at Hochstättenstraße 6-10 offers a reading program for children of kindergarten and primary school age every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month from 10.30 to 11.30 am and every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month from 4 to 5 pm.
In cooperation with the "Read with me" project of Mitinitiative e. V. (opens in a new tab), the Wiesbaden Volunteer Centre (opens in a new tab) and the city libraries, we organize regular read-aloud events in which trained readers introduce children to the colourful world of reading.
Readings are held for 30 minutes in small groups, divided according to age. The reading sessions often have a special theme, such as fairy tales or stories of encouragement. Occasionally there are also special offers such as multilingual readings or accompaniment by a sign language interpreter.
All children are invited, regardless of disability.
