Literary evening on Curt Bloch
On Thursday, November 27, the Wiesbaden Casino Society invites you to a literary evening with poems by Curt Bloch as part of the "After Work - Talk and more" series at 6:30 pm.
Thilo von Debschitz and Simone Bloch, Curt Bloch's daughter, who will join us live from New York, will tell us about Curt Bloch's life and the actor, dubbing artist and audio book narrator Gordon Piedesack will recite selected poems.
You can look forward to a literary evening with poems by Curt Bloch, whom Deutschlandfunk places in a row with Tucholsky and Erich Kästner. The German Jew Curt Bloch wrote 492 poems underground and published them under the title "Das Unterwasser-Kabinett" (The Underwater Cabinet). Anger and despair, hope and humor - Bloch's rhymes provide a very personal insight into the Nazi era and have lost none of their power to this day.
Free is more than money and goods,
even more than daily bread.
Therefore be guardians of freedom,
for he who is unfree is - dead.
Tickets at a price of 25 euros for Casino members and 30 euros for guests, including welcome champagne, finger food and drinks, can be reserved by emailing infocasino-gesellschaftde.
