4th Biebrich Book Festival

Literature, stories, and encounters for all ages: From November 13 to 20, the 4th Biebrich Reading Festival invites you to discover the world of books and stories in a variety of ways.

For one week, visitors can look forward to a varied program featuring readings, storytime events, fairy tale storytelling, a book swap, literary and theatrical evenings, and special literary events for different age groups and interests.

The program includes, among other things, a fairy tale afternoon for young and old, a psychological thriller reading, an evening of exile literature exploring the themes of homeland and identity, Ukrainian literary encounters, and a literary-theatrical evening. There’s also plenty for children and families to discover, with storytelling theater and a special children’s reading. The Erich Kästner Evening promises humor and socially critical commentary. There will also be exciting stories from the turbulent world of police work, and to wrap things up, a poetic reading of “kiss poems.”

Working Together to Foster a Vibrant Culture of Reading and Storytelling

The Biebrich-Mitte Neighborhood Management team organized the first three reading festivals with great dedication, thereby laying the groundwork for the reading festival to become an integral part of cultural life in Biebrich.

Starting this year, KulturKaufhaus Biebrich e. V. and the Biebrich Neighborhood Library will jointly take over the organization and continue this successful initiative. Together with the Nachbarschaftshaus Wiesbaden e.V., the Caritas neighborhood office BauHof, the Persian Cultural Association Ferdowsi Wiesbaden, the parents’ initiative Die Rübe e. V., the Treffpunkt aktiv Martin-Hörner-Zentrum, the Biebrich Children’s, Youth, and Community Center, and the Oranier Memorial Church, they are committed to promoting a vibrant culture of reading and reading aloud in Biebrich.

The 4th Biebrich Reading Festival will conclude on November 20, 2026, with the nationwide Read Aloud Day.

Admission to all events is free.

The Biebrich Reading Festival is funded by the Biebrich Citizens’ Budget as part of the urban development program “Social Cohesion Biebrich-Mitte.”
