Hessian Cinema Award for the Murnau-Filmtheater
For the 14th time, the Murnau-Filmtheater was awarded the Hessian Cinema Prize in the non-commercial cinemas category as part of the Hessian Film & Cinema Prize. The award ceremony took place on Friday evening at the Alte Oper in Frankfurt.
The jury once again recognized the Murnau-Filmtheater's special commitment to a diverse, high-quality and culturally relevant cinema program.
As an integral part of Wiesbaden's cultural landscape, the Murnau-Filmtheater sees its task not only in showing special films, but also in actively helping to shape cultural and social life in the Rhine-Main region. Close cooperation with regional institutions and associations plays a central role in this.
The cinema program combines current feature and documentary films with films from the unique archive of the Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau Foundation. This culturally and film-historically significant collection includes works from the beginning of cinematography to the early 1960s and makes the Murnau-Filmtheater's program a special cinematic experience.
On behalf of the entire team, Marie Dudzik and Sebastian Schnurr,
responsible for program planning, accepted the award on behalf of the entire team.
