One year of Museum Reinhard Ernst - a reason to celebrate!

On Sunday, 29 June, visitors can look forward to a full program from 12 noon to 6 p.m. - whether art or architecture, film, music or comedy! Anyone with a birthday on June 29 will receive free admission to the museum on this day.

Museum from the outside

As soon as they enter, the audience is put in the mood by the soundscapes of Frankfurt saxophonist Tobias Rüger. From cool jazz to samba to bossa nova - the musician brings his rich repertoire to life.

The guided tours "mre behind the scenes" and "Blickwinkel" for families and explorers take place at 12 noon and 2 pm: The spotlight is on the spectacular architecture of the mre (meeting point in front of the Maki Forum, no registration required, participation is limited to 20 people).

At 1pm and 3pm, the stage in the Maki Forum belongs to author and comedian Jakob Schwerdtfeger: he has created his own genre with art comedy. His take on works of art is energetic, funny and simply different. Each performance lasts 20 minutes.

No one has studied Helen Frankenthaler's work as intensively as mre curator Lea Schäfer. That's why a guided tour with her is a very special experience. Start: 1.30 pm and 3.30 pm, duration 30 minutes.

Helen Frankenthaler, Joan Mitchell and Lee Krasner were outstanding representatives of Abstract Expressionism. In her documentary Painting Without Rules - American Women Artists of the Post-War Era (ARTE/ZDF 2025, duration 52 minutes), director Maria Anna Tappeiner traces their lives. To be shown at 2 pm in the Maki Forum. Admission free!

The architectural discussion with the client and art collector Reinhard Ernst and the structural engineer Prof. Dr. Ing. Mark Fahlbusch will focus on the challenges and solutions surrounding the artistic museum building. At 4 pm in the Maki Forum, moderated by Eva Authried.

The architectural tours and the discussion are part of the program on the occasion of the Day of Architecture, which as always takes place nationwide on the last weekend in June.

The team from rue 1 by gollner's will be providing refreshments, which can be purchased at the bar in the museum foyer.

The reduced admission price of ten euros applies for this day.
