Wiesbadener Fototage - We all bleed red
As part of the Wiesbaden Photo Days, the Kunsthaus will be showing the film "We all bleed red" about the internationally acclaimed photographer Martin Schoeller on September 3 at 7 pm.
Martin Schoeller has already had US presidents, Hollywood stars and sports icons in front of his camera. In his private photo series, however, the star photographer focuses on those parts of US society that are not in the public eye - the homeless, former prisoners, drag queens and Native Americans. Schoeller has lived in the USA for thirty years and is familiar with the extremes of a country that is threatening to become ever more politically and socially divided. Using a mobile photo set-up, he creates an intimate space in which people tell him about the realities of their lives. The photographer becomes an unprejudiced listener - and a close confidant for the duration of the portrait.
Josephine Die Linke accompanies Martin Schoeller on his personal photo projects and not only shows a globally acclaimed photographer at work, but also opens up insights into diverse living environments that tell of the fractures in American society.
Germany 2024, 87 minutes, English-German original version, partly with German subtitles
Admission is free! The Kunsthaus would appreciate a small donation.
