I will not remain silent. Drawn memory in the comic
Until July 13, the Kunsthaus is exhibiting four international and award-winning comic authors who use graphic storytelling to illuminate history. A multifaceted supporting and educational program accompanies the exhibition. Supported by Kulturfonds Frankfurt RheinMain.
For the first time, the exhibition presents four international, award-winning artists - Hannah Brinkmann, Tobias Dahmen, Nora Krug and Birgit Weyhe - who illuminate history with the means of graphic storytelling. The focus is on fateful lives that remind us that the past is part of our present and illustrate how important democracy is.
The show presents original drawings, sketches and research material. It also illustrates the aesthetically very different approaches and makes the process of creating the comics and the possibilities of graphic narratives visible.
The exhibition was curated by Jakob Hoffmann and was shown on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of May 8 at the end of the Second World War. Prof. Dr. Aleida Assmann is the patron of the exhibition.
It is supported by the Kulturfonds Frankfurt RheinMain, Demokratie leben in Wiesbaden and the Heinrich Böll-Stiftung. In cooperation with the Jewish Community Wiesbaden, Spiegelbild e.V., Buchhandlung Vaternahm, sensor Wiesbaden, Klingspor Museum Offenbach and Turm zur Katz/Konstanz.
