Michael Roth reads from "Zonen der Angst. On the life and passion of politics"
As part of "Wiesbaden Reads in Summer", there will be a reading with Michael Roth from "Zonen der Angst. On the life and passion of politics". This will be followed by a discussion, moderated by Alexandra Eisen.
Michael Roth, a veteran foreign policy expert, writes with radical candor about the “zones of fear” in professional politics. About internal party power struggles. About social media and the threat of a backlash. About being pilloried for questioning the rituals and language of one’s own bubble, party, or peer group. The manipulative political game played with societal fears. Michael Roth has suffered increasingly from this—and only recognized his mental illness late in the game. With his book, he aims to encourage others to face their own fears. In doing so, he spares neither his political colleagues nor himself.
