The sam - Stadtmuseum am Markt - had launched a call for collections on the pandemic situation and is still looking for images, videos or objects related to the pandemic in and around Wiesbaden.
The museum's mission is to collect, preserve, research and exhibit objects. In order for this to be possible in the future, we must also collect today. In 2021, we found ourselves in a special phase of contemporary history: the pandemic, which had an impact on everyone. Therefore, this special time should also be collected for posterity and presented in the future.
To this end, all residents of Wiesbaden and all people in the region are invited to send images to the Stadtmuseum showing objects related to the pandemic in and around Wiesbaden. The images should show how everyday life has changed and what impact the pandemic has had on each individual. The personal stories behind the pictures are what matters.
The pictures are collected by the Stadtmuseum. Some of them can also be published on the city museum's website as part of the collection process. In the future, they can also be used for exhibition purposes.
The submissions should contain sender data in the form of a clear name and a digital or postal contact address, as the documentation of incoming objects or images must also be traceable in the museum. If desired, anonymity can be agreed for publications on the homepage or for exhibition purposes.
Objects can also be handed over to the city museum by arrangement.
It is also possible to submit videos. The Stadtmuseum has set up a website for this purpose where videos can be uploaded. Objects and their history can also be presented in this way. And the videos can also be shown on the homepage of the city museum in the meantime.
