FreitagsMusik: Timbres - Sounds of the world

You can look forward to traditional folkloric and improvised music from the Middle East with Markus Wach on Friday, September 5, at 7:30 p.m. in the Monta cultural center.

Man on plucked instrument

Multi-instrumentalist Markus Wach focuses his musical work on traditional folkloric and improvised music from the Middle East and Central Asia. On a variety of rare stringed instruments, he sometimes plays meditative improvisations, sometimes an unheard piece of folklore.

The delicate tones of a lullaby from an unknown distance alternate with the sounds of the steppe. In his current solo project, nomadic songs mix with the music of shamanic blessings and ancient oriental improvisations. When composing and improvising, Markus draws his inspiration from centuries-old musical traditions.
