More jazz for Wiesbaden - with the ACHTER concerts

Jazz & Beyond Jazz in an intimate club atmosphere - that's what the "ACHTER" concert series offers. Established musicians and young up-and-coming artists as well as previously undiscovered talents from the global "jazz pool" give their all to inspire their audience. One or two concerts are held each month, with a summer break from June to August.

Musical diversity without arbitrariness: a willingness to take risks for new sounds and the previously unheard are the hallmarks and signature of the JazzArchitect, but also the certainty that innovation and tradition form a perfect symbiosis in the artistic sense. More jazz for Wiesbaden!

In 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2024 and 2025, the ACHTER concert series received the APPLAUS Award from Initiative Musik as one of the best concert series in Germany. The prize in the category "Best small venues and concert series" is endowed with EUR 10,000.

The ACHTER is currently on summer break, but the program for the second half of 2026 is set

The series kicks off on September 18 with the Woolie Duo, an avant-garde folk duo from Taiwan, followed by another duo of a completely different style—featuring top Finnish guitarist Kalle Kalima and jazz legend Conny Bauer on the trombone—on October 3. October also offers another concert highlight on the 30th: The internationally cast band Crutches delivers elevator music for claustrophobes and tongue-in-cheek acrobatic punk.
Dub soundscapes and electronic music from the Berlin band Das Kondensat will then brighten the gloom typical of the season on November 20, before Die Hochstapler take over on the fourth Sunday of Advent, December 20, and “ride” through jazz history with unconditional enthusiasm for experimentation in the final (Christmas) concert.
