Portrait
As a soloist, Uwe Oberg focuses on playing freely with his own pieces.
However, he also incorporates pieces from different sources into his concerts. Steve Lacy and Monk have always been good companions for Oberg, as well as compositions by Annette Peacock and Robert Wyatt. Whatever he plays, he transforms into his unmistakable, dazzling sound language, which knows no stylistic boundaries.
He is currently working on a program with music by Duke Ellington. His CD "WORK" was selected by the British magazine The Wire: Top 50 Releases of 2015. 2007 Hessischer Jazzpreis.
