MARA the singing cellist takes her audience on an inspiring musical journey in which she combines her classical roots with popular music and jazz.
In her unique one-woman show, the singer-songwriter-cellist presents her songs and extravagant cover versions with "velvety soft tones" (Mannheimer Morgen). With her virtuosic and creative cello playing, her warm voice and her loop station, she creates multi-layered sound compositions.
After studying classical cello in Weimar and Lyon, she played in the Wiesbaden State Orchestra and the Mainz Philharmonic Orchestra, among others. She has appeared on television with artists such as Alex Christensen, The Dark Tenor and the Queenz of Piano. She also played as the opening act for Alice Merton on the Zugspitze and accompanied Michael Bublé's 2019/2023 tour of Germany in the stage orchestra. In addition to concerts, she gives lessons, works as a studio musician and released her debut album "OFF THE BEATEN TRACK" in 2020.
