Swapping is the new shopping

"Swapping is the new shopping" is the motto for the swap meet hosted by the Greenpeace Mainz-Wiesbaden chapter at the Schlachthof on Sunday, November 22, starting at 12 p.m.

Slaughterhouse from the outside

If you have items at home that are in good condition but are no longer needed, you can bring them to the swap meet and give them a new home. We are looking exclusively for clean, undamaged, and ready-to-use items that fit on a table and are therefore not too large.

Suitable items include, for example, books, games, decorative items, household items, DVDs, and similar media. Items that will not be accepted include, among others, washing machines, large pieces of furniture, hygiene products, and (toy) weapons.

Each person may bring up to ten items. In return, they may take as many other items as they like. Even those who don’t bring anything to trade are welcome: items can only be dropped off or taken home.

This is how sustainable consumption works—it’s that simple: swap instead of buying new—perhaps that’s the better response to Black Week.
