Cultural jungle

In the cultural jungle Unter den Eichen, nature, art and spectacle merge into a total work of art in summer.

Theater in the forest
Lots of theater in the open air

The Summer Theater at Wiesbaden’s Kultur-Dschungel will celebrate a double anniversary in 2026: for the past ten years, this independent theater has been presenting professional in-house productions to its audience under the open sky. The project originated in 2016 at the Summer Theater in Nerotal.

Five years ago, a new chapter began with the move to the Kultur-Dschungel—a new location, but with the same artistic core. Since then, performances have taken place on the extraordinary open-air stage on the northern edge of Wiesbaden, at the intersection of urban space and nature. Since 2021, a vibrant cultural hub has emerged on the approximately 3,000-square-meter site, one that is far more than a traditional stage: an amphitheater surrounded by greenery that brings together theater, concerts, festivals, and visual arts, thereby making diverse culture accessible to a broad audience.

Program 2026:

  • The Jungle Book, Premiere: May 28
  • Who Killed the Great Gatsby, Premiere: July 2
  • The Curse of the Flying Dutchman, premiere August 6
