Family Heirloom: Mr. Bello and the Blue Surprise
This year's family play for the Christmas season at the Hessian State Theater in Wiesbaden is "Herr Bello and the Blue Miracle," based on the story by Paul Maar. The premiere will take place on October 25.
Young Max’s life changes dramatically overnight. After Max, a single father, receives a blue juice from a mysterious old lady, the unbelievable happens: Bello, Max’s dog, drinks the juice and turns into a human! But Bello retains all his canine traits, leading to chaotic and hilarious situations. Author Paul Maar (“Das Sams”) tells a magical story of transformation and true friendship, peppered with humor, heart, and a dash of everyday magic!
Once again this year, the cast will be available for autographs in the box office lobby after every family performance.
Drawing and Writing Contest for "The Family Play"
Oh, oh! Bello the dog drank the blue juice and turned into a human! What does your Bello look like? As a dog, as a human, or in the middle of transforming? What kind of adventure might he have? The drawings and stories (please limit to two pages) will be displayed at the State Theater and entered into a drawing for great surprise prizes. Have fun drawing and writing!
