Brief description:
Marcelo Brodsky is one of Latin America's most important artists today. As a photographer, visual artist, and international human rights activist, his work focuses in particular on visual language and memory. The Kunsthaus will be showing a selection of his works from March 26 to June 28, 2026.
Human rights violations have been and continue to be a central theme in Marcelo Brodsky's art. Marcelo Brodsky gained international recognition with his series "Buena Memoria" (1997), which deals with the deportation and murder of some of his classmates and his brother Fernando Brodsky during the military dictatorship in Argentina. Further series followed, including "1968 – The Fire of Ideas," "Africa in the Struggle for Freedom," "Migrants," and "Traces of Violence." The Kunsthaus is presenting a selection of his works. The exhibition is curated by Professor Márcio Seligmann-Silva.
A multifaceted supporting program with guided tours, lectures, and panel discussions accompanies the exhibition. Admission to the Kunsthaus is free.
The opening will take place on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at 7 p.m. with curator Professor Dr. Márcio Seligmann-Silva and Marcelo Brodsky.
It is being held in cooperation with the Jewish Museum Frankfurt as part of the project "MISHPOCHA: The Art of Collaboration."
