Brief description:
How do we want to build in the future? In June, Heimathafen will become a place where we address this question. Experience healthy building materials firsthand and learn about the connections between health, housing, urban development, the circular economy, and protecting people and the planet during a "conversation at the long table." Become part of our project and join us in creating a place to come together, discover, discuss, and participate.
Our goal:
We want to raise awareness of the transformation in the construction industry. An intervention in interior and public spaces invites dialogue. What ingredients are needed for a healthy life? Sustainable and environmentally friendly building materials are a decisive factor here. These materials not only influence the quality of our environment, but also open up new creative possibilities. At the same time, this creates new business opportunities for industry and trade.
We want to take the topic out of specialist circles and academic spaces and literally "serve it up on a plate." What sets our format apart is the power of communication. We want to tell stories about material innovations, the appreciation of craftsmanship, and the power of community.
Our motto is: People make spaces, spaces make buildings, buildings make neighborhoods.
"Design for Democracy. Atmospheres for a better life is therefore also an invitation to actively participate in shaping our living spaces and our democracy." Quote: https://wdc2026.org/de
