Promoting young talent in music
Every year, Wiesbaden's cultural players in the field of music can apply to the Wiesbaden Cultural Office for funding for young talent.
Since 2021, up-and-coming cultural actors in Wiesbaden have had the opportunity to apply to the Wiesbaden Cultural Office for funding for young artists (formerly debut funding) in the field of music.
The aim of the funding is to promote up-and-coming artists in the field of music. The promotion of young talent is intended to make it easier for young artists, regardless of age, to (re-)enter the artistic profession. In addition to financial support, the Wiesbaden Cultural Office also supports all sponsored artists with advice and know-how.
Grant awarded for the promotion of young talent in Music 2025
The five-member jury for the 2025 Music Promotion for Young Talent consisted of:
- Franziska Domes (Wiesbaden Cultural Office, Head of Department for District Culture – Performing Arts – Music – Artistry)
- Tilmann Höhn (freelance guitarist, composer, producer)
- Cornelius Koog (Kreativfabrik Wiesbaden e. V., program planning)
- Maximilian Nickel (Wiesbaden Music Academy)
- Mareike Wütscher (Hesse State Music Academy, Managing Director).
From three applications, the jury selected the duo Linus Koenig & Jorin Schemel, also known as Buffalo and Jorinho95, who will receive a grant of €5,000. The two young, up-and-coming artists from Wiesbaden want to break new artistic ground with the production of a joint EP. The EP is intended to provide insight into the lives of young people in the city and encourage dialogue between generations.
