Walhalla Action Day
On Tuesday, September 15, anyone interested is invited to the Walhalla Action Day—featuring a “28 Senses” fair, informational sessions, and an exhibition.
"Festival of the 28 Senses," starting at 3:00 p.m.
With the redesign of the facade—which will feature windows, patio doors, and small balconies modeled after the historic original—the Walhalla will once again be visible. The light from the ballroom, which will then spill out onto the surrounding streets and squares, will transform the atmosphere of downtown Wiesbaden and
significantly enhance the quality of the neighborhood.
Schloss Freudenberg picks up on this new sensory experience and, with its mobile interactive exhibit at the construction site on Hochstättenstrasse, invites visitors to explore its “Fair of the 28 Senses.”
Information Sessions
Three events will provide updates on the progress of the current restoration work:
- 4:00 p.m.: Preserving and Passing
on the Story—Martin Horsten and Thorsten Brokmann from the Department of Historic Preservation and Conservation
at the Wiesbaden Building Authority - 5:00 p.m.: Where We Stand – The Architectural History of the Walhalla
: Jan Schüler, B.A. in Architecture, historic preservation planner, and Carsten von Schuckmann, Dipl.-Ing., architect - 6:00 p.m.: Thinking

"Urban Design & Transformation" Exhibition
At 7:00 p.m., Mayor Gert-Uwe Mende will participate in a panel discussion at the Mauritius Mediathek on the topic “Urban Design & Transformation – Walhalla as a Cultural Hub” and will then open the accompanying exhibition of the same name.
The musical program will feature works by the Jewish composer Heinz Lewin, who was active at Walhalla before the Shoah. The duo Anna Tyshayeva (piano) and Michel Gershwin (violin) will perform.
Afterward, all guests are cordially invited to stroll through the exhibition and engage in conversation while enjoying salon music.
