Heinz Lewin in Valhalla
The Wiesbaden composer Heinz Lewin premiered his operetta "Der Kurzschluss" at the Walhalla in 1906. A documentary about him shows current recordings in the Walhalla.
The district historian Carol Falling has published her research on the Jewish musician Heinz Lewin in a documentary. Born in Wiesbaden in 1888, Heinz Lewin was murdered in Auschwitz in 1942. "His musical legacy survived the gas chambers." (Yvonne Mocatta, granddaughter of the composer) Following in his footsteps, recent film footage was also shot at the Walhalla as part of the documentary.
