To mark the 20th anniversary of the twinning, a delegation from Berlin-Kreuzberg visited the Hessian capital on June 25, 1984.

District Mayor Günter Funk praised the good relationship between the two cities in a speech. The town twinning was characterized by a lively exchange at political and administrative level as well as by joint cultural and social projects.

Mayor Jentsch underlined these remarks and emphasized above all the contact between young people, which is promoted by regular school exchanges.

The highlight of the friendly reception in the festively decorated ballroom of the town hall was the subsequent signing of the Berlin guests' names in the city's Golden Book.
