From September 10 to 13, 2023, the delegation from Kamjanez-Podilskyj was a guest in Wiesbaden and the official town twinning was established during a ceremony in the town hall. The delegation members led by Mayor Mykhailo Positko signed the Golden Book of the state capital Wiesbaden to mark the occasion.

1601 kilometers lie between the two city halls of Wiesbaden and Kamjanez-Podilskyj. Even though the western Ukrainian city has so far remained unscathed by the war, the people there feel the effects of the Russian war of aggression on their country anew every day. Around 25,000 refugees are seeking shelter from the war in Kamyanez-Podilskyi - a huge challenge for a town of around 100,000 inhabitants. Kamyanez-Podilskyi is the third oldest city in Ukraine and has developed into one of the most important tourist centers in western Ukraine since the end of the 1990s.
