Main committee of the Workers' Welfare Association

On September 18, 1959, the main committee of the Workers' Welfare Association signed the Golden Book of the City of Wiesbaden.

The Hessian Minister of Labour, Hemsath, described the history of the Workers' Welfare Association at the organization's Reich Conference in the Kurhaus as a path of triumph.

Historically, the name dates back to 1933 and the term Reichskonferenz was deliberately retained out of solidarity with the East German members such as the former Reichstag deputy Anna Nemitz.

In various discussions and presentations, the 370 participants at the conference looked at ways of creating social equality. The idea of socialism was highlighted as a central point.

During a reception in the town hall, Lord Mayor Mix explained that the residents of Wiesbaden had welcomed the delegates of the Workers' Welfare Association with particular joy and wished to keep their names for future generations.

Senate Director Heinrich Albertz expressed his thanks for the warm welcome and reaffirmed the good relationship between the Workers' Welfare Association and the citizens. At the same time, he invited them to participate in the field of social aid. He then signed the city's Golden Book together with twelve other representatives of the Workers' Welfare Association.
