Dr. Konrad Adenauer

On June 11, 1954, Federal Chancellor Dr. Konrad Adenauer signed the Golden Book of the City of Wiesbaden.

Federal Chancellor Dr. Konrad Adenauer was in Wiesbaden on the occasion of the General Meeting of the Max Planck Society for the Advancement of Science from June 9 to 12, 1954.

At a reception for the guests in the ballroom of the town hall, the statesman declared that the promotion of science remained a top priority in his policy. Financial incentives were to be used to promote young talent and secure the existence of Germany as a center of science.

In his speech, Lord Mayor Mix expressed his delight that high-ranking representatives from science and politics had chosen the spa town as the venue for their annual conference. He wished all participants a pleasant and productive time in Wiesbaden. Afterwards, Federal Chancellor Dr. Adenauer and leading scientists after him signed a separate page in the city's Golden Book.
