Myles W. Brewster

On April 13, 1955, U.S. Site Commander Myles W. Brewster signed the Golden Book of the City of Wiesbaden.

In 1955, the American site commander changed in rotation. Like his predecessors, Myles W. Brewster was asked to sign the city's Golden Book.

In his speech on April 13, 1955 in the ballroom of the town hall, Mayor Mix paid tribute to the German-American friendship. Brewster had worked hard to promote good relations between the two countries and had done much to ensure that the Americans were now seen as friends and no longer as occupiers.

The officer expressed his thanks for the kind words and declared that he would keep the hospitality of the people and the beauty of Wiesbaden and the region in good memory even after his return to the United States.

He then signed the city's Golden Book.
