In September 1957, the presidents of the state parliaments of the Federal Republic of Germany were guests at a conference in the city palace of the spa town.

In resolution number 1437 of September 20, 1957, the city council gave its consent for the political guests to be entered in the Golden Book.

This was done at a reception in the Kurhaus on September 27. Mayor Buch took part in the ceremony alongside the guests of honor and the magistrate.
