International symposium on macromolecules
On October 14, 1959, the board of the International Symposium on Macromolecules signed the Golden Book of the City of Wiesbaden.
On October 2, 1959, the city council approved the registration of representatives of the International Symposium on Macromolecules by resolution number 1532.
Scientists from all over the world took part in this multi-day event and discussed the latest results of their research.
On the evening of October 14, Mayor Mix received the honorary president and Nobel Prize winner Hermann Staudinger, the five keynote speakers Werner Kuhn from Switzerland, Peter Debey from the USA, Valentin Kargin from Russia, Erich Thilo from the GDR and Giulio Natta from Italy as well as the acting president Kern from Mainz in the ballroom of the town hall.
After the ceremonial entry in the Golden Book, the scientists accepted an invitation from the city and the Hessian state government to a standing reception in the foyer of the State Theater.
