Day of German Unity
On October 3, 1990, the participants of the German Unity Day ceremony signed the Golden Book of the City of Wiesbaden.
October 3, 1990 marked the end of the division of Germany with reunification. This day was celebrated in Wiesbaden with international guests.
Although not planned in advance, Lord Mayor Exner welcomed representatives of Wiesbaden's twin cities in the ballroom of the town hall with his characteristic spontaneity.
Like the representatives of the city, the visitors were delighted that the decades-long division of Germany had finally been overcome, giving East and West the opportunity to grow closer together.
The gathering of international politicians in particular underlined the great significance of the day for the Federal Republic and Wiesbaden. After the participants of the reception had expressed their feelings in words, they signed the city's Golden Book.
