Swedish Prime Minister Tage Erlander
On March 12, 1964, the Royal Swedish Prime Minister Tage Erlander signed the Golden Book of the City of Wiesbaden.
The long-serving Swedish Royal Prime Minister Tage Erlander shaped the expansion of his country's welfare state.
The Swedish model of a strong society and an extensive public sector, which Erlander believed should help people and not take responsibility away from them, was eventually incorporated into the programs of social democratic parties in other European countries.
During a trip to Germany in March 1963, Erlander also visited the Hessian state capital with part of his cabinet. With resolution number 289, the city council approved the entry in the Golden Book on February 17.
At the festive ceremony in the main hall of the town hall on March 12, Lord Mayor Buch praised the work of the Swedish politician and welcomed the social reforms in his country.
Erlander expressed his thanks for the warm welcome and described Wiesbaden as one of the most beautiful places he had visited during his stay in Germany. After signing the Golden Book, a reception was held with the members of the city council and representatives of the city council.
