Board of the FDP

On March 7, 1954, the FDP executive committee led by chairman Thomas Dehler signed the city of Wiesbaden's Golden Book.

Mayor Erich Mix focused on the history of Wiesbaden's town hall in his speech welcoming the FDP's national executive committee.

Built in the glorious imperial era, destroyed by the war and rebuilt with great effort, there are certain parallels to the liberal democratic party of Germany.

Chairman Thomas Dehler picked up on this introduction in his speech of thanks and added that Wiesbaden had been the epitome of the big world for him even as a young boy. He was therefore delighted that his party had decided to hold the conference in the spa town.

After the Federal Chairman and his state colleagues Schwennicke, Middelhauve, Novack, Haußmann and Euler, the Federal Ministers Schäfer and Neumayer and the State Minister Strömer had signed the Golden Book, a social evening was held in the Kurhaus to mark the FDP Federal Party Conference, which was attended by numerous Wiesbaden artists and is likely to have provided the politicians with positive memories of their visit to the state capital.
