Impressions from the city festival
Streets become miles of celebration and enjoyment
The city center has a lot to offer on the last weekend in September: Visitors can expect a wide range of gastronomic offerings and a varied entertainment program on action and play areas.
In cooperation with the local advertising agency Slaeter, the retailers in Mauergasse invite you to dance the night away - on Friday and Saturday evenings from 4 to 10 pm with ELECTRONIQUE Street Grooves. Musicians perform daily in Kleine Schwalbacher Straße, while the surrounding restaurants serve culinary specialties.
Other streets are also buzzing with life: In Grabenstraße, Alfons-Paquet-Straße (hosted by the Zum Schwejk restaurant) and in the rear Langgasse (organized by Vinotheque Le Sensorique), concerts, live music and culinary delights ensure the best atmosphere.
The Obere Webergasse will be participating with its wine bars and tradespeople, who will invite you to linger with special offers and live music on Saturday.
A touch of glamor awaits visitors on Wilhelmstraße, in front of Elle & Lui: models and dressmen will present the latest fashion collections on the catwalk at 3 pm on Saturday and Sunday. A wine bar and gastronomic offerings will provide the right ambience.
Live music on the Dern'schen grounds - free admission!
On Saturday, September 27, visitors can expect a varied live music program on the stage at the Dern'schen site. The supporting program starts at 6 pm, before Austrian singer-songwriter Alexander Eder performs live at 8 pm. Admission is free - great atmosphere guaranteed!
On Sunday, September 28, the Dern'sche Gelände is also dedicated to young musical talent: From 11.30 a.m., the WMK Wiesbaden invites you to the popular participatory event "Wiesbaden sings". Regional up-and-coming musicians such as "Mathis und Luis" from the Rheingau will also be performing. The Modern Music School shows what its young musical talents are capable of - students will provide enthusiasm on stage with a variety of performances.
Open Sunday
The Wiesbaden wunderbar advertising association and the city's tradespeople invite you to an open Sunday on Sunday, September 29, from 1 to 6 pm. Numerous stores in the historic pentagon will be open for relaxed shopping away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life - an ideal occasion for an autumnal stroll through the city in a pleasant atmosphere.
Sustainability plays a central role
For an environmentally friendly journey to and from the event, visitors can travel free of charge by bus and train in the Wiesbaden city area on Sunday when the shops are open.
Those arriving by bike can use the ADFC bicycle parking service: The bicycle garage will be available at Dern'schen Gelände on Saturday from 10 am to 10 pm and on Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm. The offer is complemented by a station from "Der Radler", which offers bike checks on site.
The culinary offerings will also focus on sustainability: Many of the food stalls will do without disposable tableware wherever possible, opting instead for environmentally friendly alternatives.
Mobility & hands-on activities on Schlossplatz and Dern'schem grounds
The Wiesbaden Motor Show is taking place on Schlossplatz this weekend - with 14 participating car dealerships and an ESWE Versorgung information stand dedicated to the topic of sustainable mobility. Electric, hybrid and LPG vehicles will be on display.
The latest bicycle trends can be discovered on the Dern'schen grounds on Sunday: Wiesbaden's bicycle dealers will be presenting the latest models and innovations for bicycles there. The Bärenherz Foundation will also be represented, providing insights into its important work.
A special highlight for families: the popular blue light organizations - including the Malteser, the ASB, the THW and the reservist association - will also be on site on Sunday. They will be showing their emergency vehicles and providing information about their diverse tasks. In addition, ESWE Verkehr's historic museum bus will be on display to mark the "150 years of public transport" anniversary.
On Sunday, the clown doctors will also be putting smiles on the faces of young and old alike with their performances, providing good humor and heart-warming fun.
