Organic garden fair
The motto of the organic garden fair on March 28 and 29 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Reduit in Kastel is "Biodiversity in the garden". 60 exhibitors will be on site.
The Organic Garden Fair—unique in Germany for featuring exclusively certified organic plants and foods—offers high-quality options for sustainable gardening and living, and is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.
Surrounded by historic fortress walls, the Reduit transforms into a vibrant hub where sustainability, gardening culture, and enjoyment converge. Between the view of the Rhine and the inner courtyard, visitors can stroll, discover, and find inspiration. The charming blend of history and lovingly curated exhibitor booths makes a visit a truly memorable experience.
At the organic gardening fair, visitors meet dedicated producers and experience lush greenery and inspiration in organic quality: an organic plant market featuring roses, native wild plants, Mediterranean container plants, perennials, seeds, herbs, and products for ecological garden care.
Sustainable living with artisans, manufacturers, and handmade goods or products bearing the Fair Trade seal: hammocks, garden furniture, sculptures, delicacies, decorations, fashion, accessories, tools for ecological and sustainable garden care, as well as many useful and high-quality items that combine gardening and leisure.
It offers an opportunity for lively conversations and exciting discoveries of new products related to organic gardening and sustainable living.
Insect magnet rose
Hardly any other garden plant provides a home and food for so many insects. Werner Ruf, an organic rose gardener and founder of the Organic Garden Fair, will speak on Sunday at 1 p.m. about the "insect-attracting rose" and reveal a fascinating, little-known aspect of the rose. It serves as a food source and habitat for hundreds of insects.
