Until December 23, you are once again invited to stroll, wander and enjoy at the "Sternschnuppenmarkt". Let the magical atmosphere get you in the mood for Christmas!
The pre-Christmas period in Wiesbaden is inextricably linked with the Sternschnuppenmarkt. Numerous Christmas stalls, a stage program and offers for children await you on Schlossplatz and in front of the Marktkirche until 23 December.
Children's shooting star market
At the Children's Shooting Star Market on Luisenplatz, young guests can look forward to a colorful program with craft activities, Christmas stories and live music on the Winter Magic Stage until December 30. Also on offer are the shooting star express and, of course, the children's carousel. Stroll through the enchanted gnome forest and discover its mystical inhabitants. Twinkling lights and enchanting illuminated figures create a fairytale atmosphere that will make the eyes of young and old alike light up.
Ferris wheel & Hessian Winterstubb
The anticipation of Christmas can also be felt on Mauritiusplatz: In the WinterStubb you will be spoiled with Hessian specialties and from the Ferris wheel you can enjoy the view from a height of 45 meters over the festively decorated city centre.
Christmas tree in the Kurhaus
As every year, a very special Christmas tree awaits you in the foyer of the Kurhaus! The poinsettia - Euphorbia pulcherrima - also known as the Advent star or Christmas star, is a plant species from the spurge family. And it is precisely these 2,000 red poinsettias that make up the special Christmas tree that lights up the foyer of the Kurhaus in a wonderful red.
THermine shooting star ride
The shooting star market trips through the festively illuminated Wiesbaden with the THermine tourist train will take place from November 28 to December 22, 2025, every Friday, Saturday and Sunday on the four Advent weekends every half hour between 1.30 p.m. and 5 p.m. (last trip).

By bus to the shooting star market
Free public transport: On the four Advent Saturdays - November 29, December 6, 13 and 20 - all bus and shared lines of ESWE Verkehr and Mainzer Mobilität as well as regional transport - regional buses, suburban trains and regional trains - in the Wiesbaden city area can be used free of charge. This is made possible by a cooperation between the state capital of Wiesbaden and ESWE Verkehr. For the third time, the city of Wiesbaden is offering an environmentally friendly and stress-free journey to the Christmas city with the ESWE buses.
Gift wrapping stations
Free gift-wrapping stations are once again available for anyone shopping for Christmas presents in retail stores or at the Sternschnuppenmarkt. These can be found in the Luisenforum and in the Sportscheck building from Friday, November 28 to Saturday, December 20, daily from 1 to 7 pm.
