In Igstadt too, the cemetery had to move from its usual central location around the church to the outskirts of the village as the community grew with the onset of industrialization. The sandstone-covered slate quarry stone wall on three sides of this newly developed area has been preserved. A stone with an inscription on the south-western corner of this enclosure gives the date of its construction as 1857 and the fact that the village belonged to the Hochheim administration at that time.

The fourth side was set back after the First World War to make room for an emphatically simple war memorial. However, six large chestnut trees on the side of the wall facing Medenbacher Straße still convey the peaceful and reverent image of a village cemetery typical of the region.

The following types of grave are possible at Igstadt cemetery:

- Burial grave

- Burial plot for children

- Burial in a row
