Today's Kloppenheim cemetery is the second one used by the municipality. The old cemetery on Kirschberg, originally laid out in 1825, could no longer be used at the beginning of the 20th century. Here, a field of honor maintained by the municipal administration commemorates Russian forced laborers who were murdered by a commando of the security police in Kloppenheim in March 1945. The mayor of Wiesbaden, Holger Goßmann, who died on July 26, 2003, was buried in a field of honor at the Kloppenheim cemetery.
