Neroberg - The vineyard

Within the city, the Neroberg, Wiesbaden's local mountain, is one of the most popular excursion destinations. The 245-metre-high hill, on which the Neroberg wine also thrives under the care of the Hessian State Wine Estates, offers many leisure opportunities.

The journey on the Nerobergbahn, built in 1888, is an experience in itself. The cable car, which is powered by hydropower, overcomes a height difference of 80 meters on the 440-meter-long route. It runs from April to October and takes passengers to their destination high above the city every 15 minutes.

The Monopteros, a viewing tower built in 1851, offers visitors an outstanding view over Wiesbaden and Mainz and - on a clear day - as far as the Odenwald.

Opposite the Monopteros is the excursion restaurant "Der Turm".

A few steps below the Monopteros is the Opelbad, built in 1934. Its unique location high above the city attracts bathers from all over the Rhine-Main region to visit the "most beautiful outdoor pool in Wiesbaden". The "Neroberg Forest Adventure Trail", more than three kilometers long, also introduces nature lovers to the secrets of the forest and its inhabitants. The "Neroberg Climbing Forest", supervised by experienced experts, also offers the opportunity for sporting activities from "tree to tree".
