Play and activity areas

The "Our city on the move" report is the first complete overview of all public play and activity areas run by the Parks Department.

Status quo and recommendations for action for Wiesbaden
Status quo and recommendations for action for Wiesbaden

There are currently 171 municipal play and activity areas in Wiesbaden’s 26 districts. These have been systematically surveyed, evaluated, and digitally documented for the first time. The goal is to further develop the city in a way that is family-friendly and sustainable.

The study examined the condition, facilities, quality, and distribution of these areas. It also assessed which districts are overserved or underserved.

Play and activity areas are more than just places to play: they are meeting places, spaces for physical activity, and important places for recreation. Good, locally accessible, and attractive facilities are therefore a central component of further urban development.
