Single parent in Wiesbaden

Alone with a child, separated, divorced, widowed? There are many questions!

Being a single parent is no longer an exception today—in Wiesbaden, it affects one in four households with children, and about 90 percent of these are mothers. This life situation brings with it many questions and challenges, whether regarding parental responsibility, career prospects, financial security, or housing.

The Municipal Women’s Office, in collaboration with the Office for Social Work and the Social Service of Catholic Women (SkF), offers comprehensive information, tips, and counseling and support services. In the “Single Parents in Wiesbaden” section, you’ll find nine topic pages with helpful resources, further links, and concrete support services—specifically for single parents, but also for families in general.

Important note: Starting in 2026, there will be several changes to social welfare laws, which will be reflected accordingly in the relevant sections of the website.
