At the "Youth Culture Festival", teenagers and young adults between the ages of 14 and 27 can plan, organize and run a festival on a voluntary basis. The volunteers are supported and advised by mentors from the event industry and social work. The "Youth Culture Festival" has been a participatory project of the youth work department for over 14 years. Its aim is to promote and celebrate youth culture.

Who can take part? And how?

We are always happy to welcome people between the ages of 14 and 27 who would like to take part in the "Youth Culture Festival".

We meet once or twice a month with all volunteers in the Kreativfabrik Wiesbaden, Murnaustraße 2.

We usually start with the newly formed group in November. There will be an information evening for planning 2026 on November 11 at 6 pm. The training weekend on November 22 and 23 is when things really get going.

Further information can be found here in the link or on the Youth Culture Festival Instagram channel.

Involving young people

All wishes, suggestions and ideas of the young people and young adults involved are taken into account in this project. This ensures that the festival is designed by young people for young people and meets their ideas and needs.

Thanks to many ideas from many different people, there is a colorful selection of music, vegetarian and vegan food as well as interesting hands-on and information stands.

Voluntarily active

The "Youth Culture Festival" enables volunteers to acquire knowledge about organizing a music and cultural event. It is also an orientation aid for finding a career and offers a lot of exchange and fun with other young people.

Planning and implementation

The organization of the festival begins in November or December of the previous year. During a training weekend, basic knowledge of event planning and the practical implementation of events is taught.

Further planning is then continued in smaller groups. The groups are divided into the areas of booking, marketing, stands/infrastructure and technology. There are one or two meetings per month with all participants and further meetings in working groups as required.

One day before the festival and on the day of the festival, the young volunteers take on tasks such as instructing the information and interactive stands, looking after the artists and helping to set up and dismantle the festival's baking day.
