Children's film festival "Klappe 7"
Once a year, children show their self-produced films on a large stage. The best works are awarded prizes by a jury of experts and the audience.
On Saturday, November 22 at 12 noon, the big film premiere of the children's festival "Klappe 7" will take place, this year at the Museum Wiesbaden.
Since 2007, the municipal children's, youth and district centers and the "Supervising Primary Schools" department have been organizing the "Klappe 7" children's film festival every year.
Short films, documentaries and animated films are presented at the festive film premiere in November. The films are all produced by children between the ages of 6 and 12.
They include both individual works and group works by up to ten participants. Each film may be a maximum of five minutes long.
"Klappe 7" is a good platform for children to present their own productions to a large cinema audience and an expert jury. Jura awards prizes one to three. There is also an audience award.
With "klappe 7", the participating institutions offer children the opportunity to engage creatively with the subject of film. By making films themselves, the boys and girls gain an insight into how films are produced.
The children learn various methods for developing a script, handling the camera and editing a film. When filming, the children can simply experiment and try things out. The films thus become an expression of their own ideas.
