Children's rights places

For many years, the city of Wiesbaden has been committed to implementing the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. It makes children's rights visible in various places and squares.

One monument shows an open book with children's rights, two figures are arranged next to it.
A blue-painted wooden female figure stands in green circles on a town square.

Making children's rights visible

The Children's Rights Monument in Adolfsallee was erected in 2004 to bring children's rights to the attention of the city's public. It was designed by children and realized with the artist Alexander Lihl. To mark the 30th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, the city of Wiesbaden officially renamed this square "Platz der Kinderrechte" (Children's Rights Square).

Since then, the Office for Social Work has been working together with the German Child Protection Association on the project "Making children's rights visible in Wiesbaden". The plan is to create permanent and temporary art installations on children's rights at various locations, always with the participation of children and young people. In the long term, they are intended to create a kind of "Wiesbaden map of children's rights".
