Temporary play streets in Wiesbaden

Under the motto "More space for children and neighborhoods", several streets in different parts of the city will be transformed into lively places to play and meet - starting with Platz der Kinderrechte on May 17.

A poster about the temporary play streets

With these temporary play streets, the city is creating more space for children, families, and neighborhoods—right in the heart of the community and free of through traffic.

On selected days, sections of streets are temporarily closed to motorized traffic. Instead of cars, the streetscape is then filled with children playing, neighborhood interactions, and creative activities. Whether it’s hopscotch, riding scooters, playing ball, or simply spending time together—the play streets offer a wide range of opportunities for active leisure activities in public spaces.

The goal of the initiative is to improve the quality of life in the neighborhoods, create safe play areas for children, and strengthen social cohesion.

Contact information is provided below.
