Planning social infrastructure in new development areas

New residential areas require social facilities for the people who will live there. Section 4 BauGB provides for the involvement of the authorities whose interests are affected by the planning.

When planning and developing new residential areas, many factors must be taken into account to ensure that a livable neighborhood is created.

Social-spatial development planning represents the interests of the Office of Social Work in all phases of area development: from the initial draft plans through to participation in the negotiation of the urban development contract.

Specifically, this means that we calculate the new space requirements for daycare centers and coordinate with city planning and the area developer to determine where a daycare center will be located in the neighborhood.

In larger residential neighborhoods, spaces and meeting places for young people are also provided.

This area of responsibility involves close coordination with school development planning, urban planning, and other municipal departments involved in area development.

Under the WiSoBoN guideline (Wiesbaden Socially Equitable Land Use), the project sponsor may be required to contribute to the costs of constructing a new daycare center.
