Protest day on May 5

On Monday, May 5, people all over Europe will take to the streets, hold speeches or take action to campaign for equality for people with disabilities - including in Wiesbaden.

The state capital of Wiesbaden is also committed to the equal participation of people with disabilities and is offering activities in and in front of the town hall on Monday, May 5, from 3 to 6 pm.


Program

  • 3 p.m. Opening by Lord Mayor Gert-Uwe Mende, the Hessian State Disability Commissioner A. Winkel and the interest groups
  • 3.30 p.m. Lecture "Self-determined living" - information on the personal budget
  • 4.30 p.m. Lecture "Self-determined work" - information on the employment of people with disabilities
  • 3 to 6 p.m. Exhibitions with guided tour in the town hall on the Hessian State Prize for Universal Design and on the Silent Hour - Inclusion through lack of stimuli and information stands on inclusion in the town hall
  • 4 p.m. Action of the ME/CFS Initiative
  • In addition, the inclusive play mobile "Rote Rübe" will be coming to Wiesbaden's Schlossplatz from 3 to 6 pm. An afternoon full of games, encounters, networking and fun. The project is sponsored by the Hessian Ministry of Social Affairs.

The protest day is jointly organized by the Inclusion and Accessibility Working Group, the Expert Council and the Municipal Inclusion Officer.
