Disabled sports
Sports activities for people with disabilities are constantly increasing and there is a wide range of different activities on offer.
Disabled sports in Wiesbaden are making very good progress. The range of sports on offer for people with disabilities is constantly increasing and many sports are now accessible to people with disabilities.
Representative for disabled sports
Since 2007, the city council of the state capital of Wiesbaden has appointed an honorary disabled sports officer. Since then, the range of sports on offer for people with disabilities has increased significantly and has remained at a good level to this day.
Since the beginning of 2022, the city council has appointed a "dual leadership", who take care of the interests of disabled sports in the state capital of Wiesbaden on a voluntary basis for two years at a time.
Marvin Malsy's main area of expertise lies in the field of people with physical disabilities; Lothar Simon focuses on people with cognitive disabilities.
Both provide advice on issues relating to disabled sports, sports facilities in Wiesbaden and club cooperation in disabled sports. They act as a coordination office for disabled sports in cooperation with clubs, associations, schools, workshops, the Office for Social Work, the Hessian Disabled and Rehabilitation Sports Association, the State Sports Association and the Municipal Sports Office.
